ONE ROOM CHALLENGE - OFFICE – WEEK SIX & SEVEN

I don’t plan on going into too much detail for these two weeks because I don’t want to take away the element of surprise! I’ve also been so busy that I missed the deadline to post on the One Room Challenge website, but such is life.

I left you last week after finishing up the beautiful wallpaper from Hygge & West and the crown moulding. Week six and seven consisted of putting the bed back in place, finishing up any touch up painting, and revamping the closet doors.

The bedding is a mix from Target, Etsy, and throw pillows from Home Goods. The bed frame itself is nothing to write home about, but it was purchased from WayFair a couple years ago and was small enough to fit in the space. (The bed is a full) SHEETS, PILLOW CASES, COMFORTER, GREEN THROW PILLOW, QUILT. I wanted to add a bit of light in the corner since it does tend to lean on the darker side and found this vintage green glass hanging pendant from AMAZON! No need to hardwire anything here, I used a battery lightbulb and I’ll link it here.

The closet doors were originally going to be mirrors, but I couldn’t find exactly want I was looking for. I needed a plan B and I found inspiration as I was walking through Lowes. I found a textured wallpaper that was paintable and knew that was the route I wanted to take.

If I could go back, I would have used a thick painter’s tape over the indentations on the doors so I wouldn’t have any dips in the wallpaper, but it honestly isn’t even very noticeable in person. My photography lights make it look worse than it is. After using a paste to adhere the wallpaper I trim the excess and added a small piece of trim around each door. MAKE SURE you can still open your doors if you do this. Finally, it was time to finish the doors off with a couple coats of Black Magic by Sherwin Williams. I used a urethane paint in high gloss, I like to use this type of paint in high touch areas.
