POWDER BATHROOM

Our guest bathroom was in need of some personality. Compared to the rest of the house the little powder room wasn’t really THAT bad, but it lacked personality and not longer made sense with the rest of the vibe in the house.

BEFORE

I used some decor from our Georgia house that I had left over and made the best out of it. If I’m being honest I even love the wall color that the previous home owners picked for the space, but again it just wasn’t the vibe for this home.

I knew I wanted to go bold in this space since it is so small and wallpaper was the way to do that. I previously used pre-pasted wallpaper in my dining room from Anthropologie and LOVED it, but wanted to try peel-&-stick that everyone was talking about. I ordered my paper from Tempaper Designs in the pattern Mosaic Scallop.

The installation was very simple and you only need a few tools to make the process simple:

3.) Straight Edge or Ruler

4.) Scissors

Now that I have used both pre-pasted and peel & stick, I will say I prefer the weight of pre-pasted and it is easier to manipulate. If you are in a renting situation, or change your mind often peel & stick is definitely for you.

Next was time to paint the vanity! I am a huge fan of using color in my designs and wanted to pull in the kitchen cabinet color on this side of the house as well. I’m using the color Jasper by Sherwin Williams, and applying using the tutorial from Reclaimed Cottage! (CHECK IT OUT HERE)

I also snagged this amazing quality hardware from Battle Creek Hardware. The quality is better than anything else I have ordered in my houses. I purchased the cup pull style “Midwest Cup Pull” in the color Florentine Brass.

THIS MIRROR ahhh I die! I snagged this gem in a small boutique while traveling for work and knew it belonged in my house. I have linked the mirror from a few different vendors, but it keeps selling out quickly and I can see why.

Lastly, my artwork. I stumbled upon Artfully Walls and haven’t turned back since. I will link all four pieces I have in this room! Sometimes I just peek in to see some of my favorite art pieces!

Comet and Oranda—(Isn’t she beautiful?!)

Going —(I love that this looks like it is drawn on scrap paper)

Nuba, 2010 — (I found this gem through ChrislovesJulia blog)

Helen on the Air Mattress —(Another favorite & 100% relatable)

I love the statement this tiny room makes. Don’t underestimate your small powder rooms, it is of course the one room they are definitely going to visit in your home. Bathrooms don’t have to equal boring.
